Steel Magnolias is getting reissued in a lot of theaters across the country to celebrate 30 years since the movie's release. The movie has become a touchstone and a bit of a hot spot for  women, pregnancy and type 1 diabetes. This round table first ran last year as Stacey's local theater was putting on the show; Steele Magnolias was first a play by Robert Harling – based on the true story of his sister's death then the blockbuster movie. Join the Diabetes Connections Facebook Group!  Melissa Lee, Kerri Sparling & Kyrra Richards are all moms who live with type 1 joined Stacey for this talk about the movie, their experiences in pregnancy and now with their kids. Melissa is the director of community relations for Bigfoot Biomedical, the mother of two children and was diagnosed with type 1 in elementary school. She blogs at Sweetly Voiced. Kerri is an author, advocate and until recently, she wrote SixUntilMe, the wonderful blog that she wrapped up this month. Kerri was diagnosed at age 7 and has two children. Kyyra created and heads up Myabetic – which makes beautiful fashionable bags with diabetes in mind – she was diagnosed as a adult and when we taped this interview last year she had one baby and another on the way.
