Step #3 in Effective Communication that Gets Results

from The Accountability Minute:Business Acceleration|Productivity · host Anne Bachrach

Today, we are talking about Step #3 for Effective Communication that Gets Results, which is that it Recognizes Problems in Communication. What are some of the most common barriers in effective communication?  For starters, there is language, or word usage.  One cannot always assume that what sounds benevolent to you would strike others the same way.  People can easily misinterpret or even distort a statement’s original meaning.  It is wise to avoid saying anything questionable that might confuse a listener, or inadvertently provoke a negative reaction.  Sarcasm and humor can also be difficult to get across, in some cases.  Humor should be fairly obvious and nothing too droll, or else one could easily take offense to a flippant statement. Tune in tomorrow for Step #4 to effective communication that gets results. Think about how applying this step can help you be even better.  Want more on effective communication, download my 2 great articles on Essentials of Effective Communication and Client-Centric Communication by going to https://bit.ly/communication-articles. Put an end to the procrastination cycle and make progress on your goals with my complimentary Guide to Stopping Procrastination!
