Steph Tolev – JFL MTL 2023 (Go Plug Yourself)

from 9to5 (dotcc) Podcast Network (Montreal)

Steph Tolev joins me on this minisode to talk about getting older (is this a theme?), not having an air conditioner and how doing a single episode of Video On Trial for Much Music obviously lead directly to her performing in front of an entire hockey arena opening up for the legendary Bill Burr. She also offers a sneak preview of what she might have in store for the Canadian comedy scene as she takes aim at the scene with her keynote address. Details on Steph’s shows: Steph will be performing The Nasty Show running from July 18, 2023 to July 26, 2023 at Club Soda every night at 9:30 PM. She also has her solo show, Filth Queen, at Cafe Cleopatra on July 25 and 27, along with her podcast, Steph Infection: The Podcast on July 28 at the Double Tree Ovation. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
