Adonijah attempted to seize the throne for himself, gathering supporters and positioning himself as the next king. Yet while human ambition sought to take control, God was already at work fulfilling His sovereign plan. Through the faithful actions of Nathan the prophet, Bathsheba, and King David, Solomon was publicly established as the rightful king of Israel.This chapter reminds us that God's purposes cannot be overturned by human schemes. People may strive for power, recognition, or control, but the Lord ultimately accomplishes His will. Solomon's rise to the throne was not the result of political maneuvering alone—it was the fulfillment of God's promise.The same truth encourages believers today. When circumstances seem uncertain and competing voices create confusion, we can trust that God remains in control.
