Distance from God would have been understandable.But Moses doesn’t ask for strategy.He doesn’t ask for prosperity.He doesn’t ask for protection.He asks for presence.“If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” (Ex. 33:15)That is the heart of biblical faith.Moses understood something we often forget:Success without God is failure.Movement without God is wandering.Blessing without God is emptiness.God offers Israel the Promised Land — but warns that His presence will not go with them in the same way because of their sin.
