from Restoration: Where New Life Begins · host John Baldwin
Day 57 — “The Lord, Merciful and Gracious”📖 Exodus 34After Israel’s rebellion with the golden calf, the story could have ended in judgment.Instead, it deepens in revelation. In Exodus 34, God passes before Moses and proclaims His own name:“The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness…”This is one of the most important theological moments in all of Scripture. God defines Himself — and He leads with mercy.Yes, He is holy.Yes, He is just.Yes, sin has consequences. But at His very core, He is compassionate and covenant-keeping.Israel deserved abandonment.Instead, they received renewed covenant.Rebellion did not cancel God’s character. Mercy triumphed. And that same God has not changed. When we fail, when we wander, when we fall short — His name is still merciful. His nature is still gracious. His love is still steadfast.🔥 The cross ultimately reveals what Exodus 34 began to proclaim: justice satisfied, mercy extended.Today’s reminder: Your sin is not stronger than His mercy. Return to Him.#StoryOfScripture #Exodus34 #MercifulAndGracious #SteadfastLove #CovenantFaithfulnessSupport the show
