Strengthening Working Families Initiative

from Father Matters · host Father Matters

On today's show, we discuss The Strengthening Working Families Initiative with Winsom Benjamin and Isis Sanchez. SWFI is taking someone who has a job, and moving them into a career track where they have opportunities for advancement or a ladder to grow skills and become a more valuable (and higher paid) employee. The three sectors for which we focus our training opportunities represent the major employment sectors in the Valley. BBC News reported that in Phoenix metro last year, more financial service and financial technology workers were hired than anywhere else in the U.S. The new data says that typical workers in fin-serve and fin-tech earn an average of nearly $70,000 a year, compared to the metro’s average wage of around $50,000 per year. SWFI want's thier workers to have the opportunity to find a career with good wages.
