If you've already subscribed to the podcast, unsubscribe and then subscribe again. Sorry for the trouble! Ugh! Technical stuff is the worst. What is the BEST is hearing from Millennials who are kicking ass in their industries and willing to impart their wisdom. This week, we talk to Lauren N. Williams, Features Editor at Essence Magazine (https://www.essence.com/authors/lauren-n-williams) and journalism Fellow at Harvard University (http://nieman.harvard.edu/alumni/current-fellows/). At first, her plan was to be Editor-In-Chief of Cosmo or Marie Claire magazines. But when she began feeling unfulfilled at her mainstream magazine jobs, fate connected her to Essence magazine where she has been able to cover the Obamas (several times), appear on television, and travel to tell both fun and inspiring stories. She says she loves working for a publication that advocates and fights to tell the often ignored stories of black people. Unafraid to speak her mind and go for what she wants, Lauren is a Boss. Still, like most ambitious women, she says she she's only just begun.
