Her two younger children were in a car accident in 2008. Thankfully, her youngest survived and is doing well. Sadly, her middle child, Kayla, did not survive the accident. Kayla donated organs, eyes, and tissue. Since then, Sue has presented to driver’s ed classes, rotary clubs, and health professionals about the importance of donation. She is also the chapter leader for Compassionate Friends in the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities.
