Barb Greenberg: Rediscovering U – Part 1
Barb Greenberg: Rediscovering U – Part 1 Take 25 minutes over lunch to nourish your soul! After 33 years of marriage, Barb Greenberg found herself struggling through a heartbreaking divorce. Her experience led her to write two books: Hope Grew Round Me and After the Ball: A Woman’s Tale of Reclaiming Happily Ever After.Barb then created workshops for other women who realized that their marriages were also ending. The workshops became the foundation for Rediscovering U, the company she founded in 2013 to provide education, support, and resources for women who are approaching, experiencing or moving forward from divorce. When her business was just 15 months old, the Minnesota Women’s Press named Barb as one of their Changemakers of the Year, for helping “to create greater equality, justice, and self-determination for women and girls.”Barb recently published her third book, The Seasons of Divorce: Insights for Women in Transition. Readers have said, it’s “filled with hope,” “full of deep wisdom,” “encouraging, comforting,” “applies deeply to EVERY woman,” and is “a must-read for anyone who has been through transitions and desires to heal, become whole, and realize her full potential.”Barb believes that when women heal, families heal; when families heal, communities heal; and when communities heal, the possibilities are endless. In Part 1 of their two-part conversation, Nada and Barb discuss:How Barb felt she was disappearing in her marriageThe traumatic event that was the catalyst for her to initiate her divorceWhy affirmations didn’t work for Barb, and what she did differentlyAllowing our emotions to be acknowledged and have a voiceRealizing how toxic her marriage was once she had moved outUsing anger as a toolKey takeaways:When there are no distractions, you have to face your thoughtsMajor changes in our lives are not easy transitions, but they happenStaying busy is an acceptable form of addictionFaking it ’til you make it doesn’t always workThere is power in listening to ourselvesThe challenge only looks big Connect with Barb Greenberg Globe Facebook Linkedin-in Twitter Youtube Phone Connect with Nada Hogan Globe Facebook Instagram Linkedin-in Youtube Envelope The post Barb Greenberg: Rediscovering U – Part 1 appeared first on Nada Hogan.

Lorraine Hoving: The Big Greatness of My Life – Part 1
Lorraine Hoving: The Big Greatness of My Life – Part 1 Take 25 minutes over lunch to nourish your soul!Lorraine Hoving has always been an eternal optimist, even when she didn’t believe it for herself. When she turned 60 years old, she realized if God blessed her with 30 more years on earth, then her life was already two-thirds over. All the goals she had set out to do year after year — the weight she had vowed to lose, the health she promised to obtain, and daily organization that had eluded her — all lay there in a big heap of empty promises. Some promises were over 45 years old! Was this all? Would she ever change or could she ever change? She dug deep and decided she had no choice but to do something about her situation. She took a personal development class, learned to love herself, face the trauma of her past, learned to forgive others and, most importantly, forgave herself. She took an online class on style and fashion, hired a trainer, took adventures with her husband, and immersed herself in learning and improving every single day. She has lost a total of 125 lbs and continues on her path to total health and wellness in mind and body!In Part 1 of their conversation, Nada and Lorraine discuss:Why turning 60 was such a life changer for LorraineHow Lorraine gained and lost 130+ poundsReconnecting with her joyful little girl selfBeing blessed by a husband who married her because of her heartAsking the tough questionsKey takeaways:When you are older, you need to realize there is less life aheadYou have to take a full 100% responsibility for your lifeYou can’t hide an addiction to food like you can drugs or alcoholIn our traumas we lose the little girl or boy in us and the freedom to just be ourselvesDeep joy and laughter come from truly liking and loving yourself Get Lorraine's delicious & healthy recipes for the holidays!
