from Her Dinero Matters · host Jen Hemphill

If you’ve ever felt broken, you know there’s probably nothing worse than the collection of anxious, self-defeating thoughts (and ensuing feelings) that fall upon you every time you realize you’re broke and can’t afford a basic expense, whether it is rent or just essential groceries. But, what if there was a mental switch that you could turn on everytime you feel broken and defeated? Something  that allowed you to turn the situation around? Would you use it? Well, you’re in for a treat!  In this week’s episode, Angelina Rosario, success coach, author, and motivational speaker will share with how she learned to turn brokenness and setbacks into fuel for success Hopelessness isn’t fun. It's easy to become carried away by the tide of negative feelings and intrusive/anxious thoughts that pop up whenever you’re going through a rough patch and your finances reflect your life circumstances all too clearly. Being broke is like wearing clothes that are too small for you: outsiders may not notice right away, but you feel the itch and the stretch everytime you take a step.Although there is nothing to be ashamed of, almost everyone reacts to a broken situationship in a negative way, and for a great reason: it’s how regular humans deal with stressful and unsettling circumstances! But, what if there was an alternative to this? What if setbacks and perceived failure were not something to be wary of, but the very building blocks of success? An essential piece to your journey? This is an insight that Angelina Rosario, success coach and author, discovered when she finally decided to take action to start changing her dire circumstances. In this episode, Angelina will share her incredible story of resilience and growth. In this episode you will learn: The crucial difference between making money and keeping money.Angelina’s insights on the power of setbacks. The one mindshift that allowed Angelina to leave behind the poverty cycle. For a quick recap of this episode go to https://www.jenhemphill.com/182The post, Essential Wisdom To Use When You Feel Broke  | HDM 182 appeared first on the Her Dinero Matters Podcast

Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation. TomCattt Thomas Patton From the beginning music has prowled with accordion lessons at a young age, followed by sax, blues harp and more recently piano, vocals, song writing and recording. Thomas Patton (AKA TomCattt) credits his mother for his stage name "TomCattt” as she was big on nick names for those she held close to her heart. TomCattt's music is best described as easy listening and sometimes retro, yet with a contemporary mix and feel. Accompanied by the creative tracks of a number of gifted musicians, his first album Hiiyaaaaaaaaaaa inspires imagination and finds a way to impress with a unique vocal sound, compelling harmony and gripping melody. The lyrical content is in fact a living reflection of this artists emotional journey that followed leaving love, finding a new love only to lose love once again. Hiiyaaaaaaaaaaa was released on June 1st, 2013 and all are invited to Soundcloud, Bandcamp, ReverbNation and Cdbaby where "A Question" is free download and to enjoy TomCattt's website tomcattt.com.
