Sunday Sessions - SEPTEMBER 26 Week 1 - Play With The Weather (Guitar House Set April 2007)

This week I’m taking a little break from the usual weekly uploads. I’m heading off on holiday, but I didn’t want to leave you without music, so over the next few weeks I’ll be digging into the archives and sharing some previously unreleased sessions that have been sitting there for years. And this one takes us all the way back to April 2007. This session has a special story behind it. A good friend of mine had just bought a brand-new Volkswagen Eos convertible and asked me to put together a session for those drives with the roof down, the sun shining and the Mediterranean breeze coming through. That’s how “Play With The Weather” was born. The title was inspired by the Volkswagen Eos campaign at the time, but it soon became the perfect description of what I wanted the session to feel like: sun, road, sea, freedom and house music. And because this was recorded in my hometown of Almería, the Cable Inglés had to be part of the story. That iconic old iron ore loading pier overlooking the Mediterranean is one of those places that instantly takes me back home. Recorded in April 2007, mixed live using vinyl and Pioneer CDJs, and very much rooted in the house sound of that era. Almost 20 years later, I’m bringing it back. So turn it up, put the roof down and let the music take you for a drive.
