A DEEPER SENSATION BY JUAN CIRERA SET DEEP JULY 12 Summer 2012. This was a very special moment in my journey as a DJ. At the time, I was heavily influenced by the radio show I was working on, especially by one of its most personal sections: A Deeper Sensation. That space was all about the purest side of deep and soulful music. Warm, deep, emotional, sophisticated… music with that special feeling that stays with you long after the mix is over. SET DEEP JULY 12 was born from that idea. Looking back, I consider this one of the best recordings I have ever made. It was one of those sessions where everything just clicked: the music, the mood, the flow and the feeling. I played this selection over and over again, almost to exhaustion, and it became one of those mixes that my friends kept asking to hear again. And now, more than a decade later, I wanted to bring it back. This is the second week of my holidays, so I won’t be able to record a new session this week. Instead, I thought there was no better time to revisit something that means so much to me and share it with you again. The artwork is inspired by one of my favourite places near home: Cabo de Gata, and especially the Arrecife de las Sirenas. Its colours, its landscape and that unique Mediterranean atmosphere perfectly capture the mood of this mix. So, rather than a new recording this week, here is a journey back to the summer of 2012. A deeper sound. A timeless selection. A very special memory. Enjoy.
