Host: Dr. Jennifer Hunter, Assistant Director for Family and Consumer Sciences Extension, University of Kentucky Guest: Dr. Angela Grubbs, Nurse Practitioner and Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in Nursing and Dentistry KY Smiles Episode 15 An interdisciplinary team of UK health care providers joined together to positively impact the health of Casey County elementary-aged children with funding support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Working with the community, the team focused on providing tools that targeted five elements of health: · Preventing illness/injuries and risky behaviors; · Emphasizing the importance of oral health; · Abstaining from all tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes); · Eating healthy/nutritious foods; and · Emphasizing the importance of physical activity.
