Surviving Domestic Violence & Rebuilding Self-Confidence (ft. MISS TEXAS USA 2020 Taylor Kessler)

from Why Not #DoBoth with Kellie Sbrocchi · host Kellie Hall Sbrocchi

"She's Beautiful" --that may be the first thing to come to mind when you see a photo of MISS TEXAS USA 2020, Taylor Kessler. If you've learned anything about the women of MISS USA it's that they're all more than a pretty face. Taylor, specifically, has overcome, adapted, and evolved through the adversities in her own life. I reached out to Taylor initially because, after following her on social media since the inception of her reign in August 2019, she seems like the most confident woman in the world. "How did she do it?" i thought, I needed to know how she built her confidence overtime. Turns out, she's faced an incredible amount of emotional tragedy and overcome unbelievable: domestic violence. In this episode, Taylor shares with us her emotional personal story, how she overcame domestic violence, and later rediscovered her confidence. I'm so incredibly proud of this woman and love being able to share her powerful story with the world, with the hope of encouraging other young men and women who are in situations of domestic violence. Taylor graduated with a double major in Communications and Broadcast Production. Fluent in American Sign Language, this former competitive athlete set her sights on joining the NFL as a sideline reporter, and she is an intern at GALvanize, Women in Sports. Serving as host and emcee for the ALL American Bowl on NBC put Taylor on the radar with a few NFL teams beforeCovid19 struck. Not to be “sidelined,” Taylor set out to obtain her Real Estate license, which will double her impact: allowing her to sell you your home on Saturday and sell you sports on Sunday! Taylor is an active volunteer with various organizations including Houston Area Women’s center, Saafe House and Jamie’s Hope to name a few.Tune in to hear the powerful story of MISS TEXAS USA 2020, Taylor Kessler, and why she's essentially the "titleholder" for "Miss Understood." Follow Taylor's journey to MISS USA as she competes for the title on FYI network live, November 9th.IG: @TAYLORLEIGHKESSLER @MISSTXUSAEnjoyed this episode?
