Survivor Guide for Life After Brain Injury with Kim Justus

from A Recovery Now · host Kim Justus

My guest tonight on Recovery Now, is Barbara J. Webster, author of Lost and Found, A Survivor’s Guide forReconstructing Life After a Brain Injury, available through Lash Publishing. In 1991, Barbara suffered a TBI when her car skidded off a slippery road and was totaled. Like so many others, she was not diagnosed properly and suffered the ills of too many  survivors. We will travel through her journey as a brain thriver, as well as her involvement in facilitating the Brain Injury Survivor Support group in Framington since 1995. She also works part time for the Brain Injury Support Association of Massachusetts assisting other support groups, and will discuss the importance of support of like minded people in recovery. This show is a gathering placefor anyone seeking recoveryfrom the challenges of life on life's terms. I introduce topics, or guests share their experience, strength and hope. We discuss useful tools that have helped us lighten the load through our journey of recovery. More will be revealed! This is a "we" recovery program, because it is in the "we," that we discover the new "me." We focus on the four A's of Recovery...Awareness, Acceptance, Action and Adaptation. This is a place for survivor's striving to become thrivers.  :) Most nights we have a featured guest, or will introduce a topic of recovery  encouraging callers to join us in the discussion. The back half of the show is Open Mic and some great Indy Music, sure to inspire. Host is Kim Justus, author of In a Flash: Miracles Hereand Beyond at www.inaflash.org
