Sustained by the Eternal: Finding True Life in Jesus | Carl Mutzelburg
from Gateway City Campus · host Gateway Baptist Church
In reflecting on Jesus’ profound declaration in John 6, Pastor Carl is struck by the invitation to move beyond a life of mere existence—bios—into the vibrant, quality life of zoe that only He provides. Throughout our week, it is so easy to chase after "bread that spoils," exhausting ourselves for material security or external recognition that ultimately fails to satisfy our deepest cravings. Even our religious efforts and "works" can become a form of manna that we try to hoard, missing the heart of the Gospel: that God’s grace is a gift to be received through faith, not a wage to be earned. Jesus identifies Himself as the Bread of Life, urging us to move beyond the transactional and into a personal relationship where we find our nourishment in His presence, His word, and His sacrifice. My prayer for us is that we would stop asking what we must "do" and instead lean into the one who has already given His life for the world, discovering that He is truly more than enough for every hunger of our souls.Referenced Scriptures:Zephaniah 3:17Psalm 84Exodus 16:20Matthew 4:4John 4:34John 6:26-27John 6:28John 6:32John 6:35John 6:47-51John 6:53-59John 6:60John 6:68John 12John 15Ephesians 2:8-9
