La Tabla Periódica de los Elementos es uno de los avances más impresionantes de la historia de la Ciencia. Fue propuesta en 1869 por el químico ruso Dmitri Ivánovich Mendeléyev y ofrecía un visión ordenada de los 63 elementos químicos conocidos en aquel momento. Ahora, 150 años después de su publicación, la tabla propuesta por el científico ruso se ha ampliado y completado notablemente para albergar los 118 elementos conocidos, aunque conserva el espíritu inicial. Hoy, comenzamos una serie de dos capitulos en los que el profesor Fernando Carrillo Hermosilla, profesor de química inorgánica en la Facultad de Ciencias y Tecnologías Químicas de Ciudad Real, UCLM, va a hablar de la historia de la química utilizando la Tabla Periódica como base del relato.
