Hey, what's up SB Warriors, Paul Kay here, and I'm actually getting ready to do a live Facebook feed within the group, which we'll talk about. Some of the cool stuff we're doing at Funnel Happy Black. Alright, so let's get this started. Hey guys, if you're like me, you've always had a desire to do more.
And even inside, you've known there's a way and a possibility for you to achieve your dreams, the lifestyle, and achieve the freedom you've always wanted. Because we have what it takes to get things done and learn from others and get the mindset to achieve the dreams we've always wanted. Welcome to SB Warriors. Woo!
Hey, what's up SB Warriors? I just wanted to reach out to you guys on my fun life and live, and kind of read through some of the notes and kind of some of the takeaways that I think I've been kind of walking away with. And I think as we as business owners, we're all trying to get more business for our business so we can kind of create the lifestyle we want. And I think that's the goal for everybody who's in business, trying to create the life they've always envisioned, whether you're an entrepreneur or you're full-time on your own business.
And I think though, a lot of times we're missing pieces of the puzzle. And so today, actually, is one of the reasons why I went to Funnel Happy Live. It's kind of to put together some of the pieces of the puzzle that I think I've been possibly missing and some of you guys may be in the same boat. So what I'm hoping to do is kind of recap some of the takeaways that I've gotten.
And one of the things I've noticed is that when you're selling something, because I don't care what business you're in, you're selling something. And a lot of times people want to argue that they're not selling anything with service business, or you're selling your service. And I think we can remember that we're selling, but we're not necessarily doing manipulative sales, so they can kind of take away that stigma. So one of the things that I used to struggle with is being able to sell because I don't want to feel like I was selling.
And so one of the things that Russell started talking about with is when we are selling is we have to have our offer, but we also have to package that offer and way to communicate it. And the best way to do that is through storytelling. And storytelling is one of those things where it's like you're even just doing this video live. It's uncomfortable because we kind of want to rely on other systems and other people to do that for us and expect it to be a pure numbers game.
But if you add in the storytelling element to it, then it creates that bond that trust to where if I have that bond to trust and you get people interested based on your hook and you take people along through the story in what your epiphany is. So like your epiphany is kind of like, oh my gosh, I realize something that caused me to like this product, this service and why you should do it too. But you're not telling somebody that they should do it. You're telling what you experience so that they naturally understand that they should do it too.
And it can apply to any business. And I think a lot of times we have these limiting beliefs of like, oh, it's not going to apply to my business. And I think that's one of the biggest thing is all these limiting beliefs that I personally have. I noticed like, today I was having a discussion.
I'm like, oh man, I was undercharging for services. And I was maybe being super broad and I sometimes need to narrow down a niche. And I was talking to actually Jamal and he's in the group and we were chatting. I'm like, man, I don't know if I want to let go of all these people, like saying no to potential people.
And I thought you're not saying no to these people. You're just trying to focus your business on a deeper level. And so if we can focus our business on a deeper level by creating deeper levels of communication through our own experiences. So combining what Russell talked about in Hook Story Offer, also with another couple I talked about, I'm sorry, I forgot their name.
And being able to story tell and be able to share your deepest darkest moments. People are more able to identify with you. So if I tell a story when I was doing something as a child that deeply impacted me, you're more likely to become bonded to what I'm saying versus me just kind of telling you stuff. Like, oh, like I'm a teacher and just kind of like stuff.
When you tell stories, that it actually sinks in. I didn't plan this. I'm kind of winging it. So I didn't think of a story I thought about.
But right now I was talking to Jamal. He's like, hey dude, why aren't you doing fitness? And I'm like, well, I've been working in the auto repair business, but helping people out in this niche. And it's like, I was, I'm really like, I'm reluctant to actually niche down into one thing because I don't want to feel like I'm closing the doors to help other people.
But at the same time, I don't know if I'm having my own reluctance to, to succeed maybe. I mean, thought about that because it's like, I'm, I'm like nervous. I was like, oh, I feel like I'm breaking up with somebody when I'm like, I know I need to do it. And I'm talking to this one guy who's doing the insurance business and he's crushing it.
Like he's, he's getting leads for clients. He's crushing it. And he's on track to make $100,000 a month. And so I'm like, if he's on track to do that and he's niche down, he jumped from real estate to insurance.
And I'm like, he's like, you need to niche down. And I'm like, I feel the resistance. I'm like, ah, and I can't put my finger on exactly why. And I was talking to people and I was just like, you know what, I'm getting something out of this.
And I don't know what it is. And I was like, whether it's my fear base, whether it's something like that. So I'm like, I need to work through my stuff, probably just seeing what you guys like. Some of you guys don't do video and like you should be doing video.
Some of you guys have challenges within like podcasting, putting on things of content. But the biggest thing, I'm really, it's storytelling. So right now I'm sharing with you that I'm struggling and I'm trying to focus down my niche. I understand advertising.
I understand I put up the pages, how to create an opt-in funnel, all that stuff. But there's an emotional element in the psychology. And it's like, if I can't break through my own barriers, then it's like, it's like, I gotta get through this. Or else I'm always going to be stagnant.
And I don't want to be stagnant. And there was a talk, one of the guys that talked about my son. And like, we get into this business to potentially be there more for our family to provide, do all these other things. So if you guys have kids and all of a sudden you're like, you know in the back of your head, you should be doing something.
But you're not. And it's like, I think we're doing a disservice. And at least I am. I'm doing a disservice to my kids.
And like, when I, for me to come out here, my son is literally like hugging me as he's supposed to go to school. And he's crying. Like, to the point where I'm like, you're going to make me cry. I'm like, you need to go, you need to just go to school.
And like, that's rough. It's like, it's bad enough that we work so hard to get a chance to spend as much time with our kids. But to hear like, we average, I think you said about 12 minutes a day with our kids. And that's like an alarming statistic for me because it's like, why am I doing all this work?
I'm not doing it for them. And so hopefully some of you guys can say, hey, look, you know what? But publish, story tell, and people will identify more with you if you're not doing that already. And I'm going to make those tweaks and changes, hopefully because I need to for my business, for my family.
And if those stakes are high enough for you, you know, find something that that is and what is for you to push yourself to that next level. And I got to say, this is awesome training and some of the information I've heard before from Russell. But it's when you're here live, you're, it's this community. And I never thought like this community would be so impactful.
And sometimes you go places and you're like, people have like a little bit of attitude, chip on the shoulders and stuff like that. People trying to make themselves feel better. I don't get that at all. And you can tell like there are people who are making, you know, hundreds of thousands of dollars a month talking to people who haven't even launched a funnel for a successful business.
And it's like the willingness to help other people is what is like this awesome feeling of cohesiveness. And so the biggest thing I guess I could take away from you guys is stretch, put yourself out there and be willing to, be willing to fail, be willing to put yourself out there, tell stories, and tell the epiphanies that you've had for your business specifically. So if you're like, whether it's fitness, whether it's insurance, whether it's a retail store, whatever it is, it is about that particular product. And we tell the story about it to raise the value so we don't get caught up into this pricing war where it doesn't matter if you charge less because people still expect the same.
And I had to learn this the hard way because I would charge less but I would shoot the video and edit the video and I do that and I take the total ad budget and we remember, I keep selling this. I mean, when client spent $750 a month, we were making $22,000. I think it was like $20,000. And for them, it still wasn't enough.
And I was like, wow, that's not enough. And then, statistically, I was like, we knew that cost per lead, we knew all these things, but it wasn't enough because of some of the things that they had about advertising. And so once you can figure that out, it becomes a numbers game. But what helps if I can get business owners or people like you and me, if we share our stories, if we talk to people, then the communication just goes up and it ultimately helps people bond with us so that people will say, hey, if you want to buy this product or the services, what I kind of believe in and why you want to look at it, people will be more likely to take a look.
That's just my two cents on it. Hopefully you guys are having a good time. If you have any questions about some of the things, I'm really talking to millionaires left and right. And it's absolutely amazing.
It's never been so close to so many multi-millionaires. So if you have any questions on that, let me know. And I will continue to update you guys and kind of help package this because we should all be storytelling, coming up with our bridges, advertising, and a way that hooks people's interest. And so I'm kind of surmising it, but hopefully you guys are actually helping me by me talking about it.
I'm actually trying to make sure I'm doing what I'm supposed to do. So that I'm learning it. And hopefully you guys don't mind me bouncing this off you at the same time. But anyway, keep pushing you guys and take care.
And hopefully I'll update you guys tomorrow night. If you're cool with that, let me know if you have any questions. Alright, peace out. Hey SB Warriors, thanks for listening to today's podcast.
