Taking Life By Storm

from The SuperpowHer Podcast · host Deya Direct

"Broken Crayons Still Color" Meet Monique Boyd, the GM for Legends Hospitality at the STAR, home to the Dallas Cowboys. Her achievements are many, but the road to success did not come without storms that literally knocked her off of her feet. After a thyroid storm, her organs shut down, she had seizures, and was in a coma for a week, Monique had to relearn how to walk, she lost her ability to read and talk. She took a low paying job for $12 an hour at a baseball stadium at the age of 36 to follow her passion, only to later become the Director of Catering and Events directly across the street for the Dallas Cowboys. Today, she's the GM of the Star at Frisco overseeing a $17 million budget with staff of 200. Monique's story is proof that "Sometimes it takes a storm to show you who you are when your back is up against the wall. When the storm is over the sun will shine."
