TAKING UPON US THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST: Dallin H. Oaks, Apr. 1985

Every Sabbath day countless members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day partake in a sacred ordinance. In the sacrament promises are made and blessings are extended. One of the promises that we weekly agree to is that we are willing to take upon us the name of Jesus Christ. To keep a covenant you have to understand it in its fullness. In this talk given by then Elder Dallin H. Oaks, in April of 1985, he masterfully teaches about this most important eternal doctrine. This promise does not just stop at our meetinghouse sacrament tables, but extends through the temple, into eternity. When we keep this covenant the blessings are incomprehensible and salvific.
