Cancer is not a ‘one-stop-shop’ there are many things that have to happen in the journey of being treated. In Malawi, there are not the systems and procedures in place to effectively deal with cancer. You can be talking, walking and people think you are ok but actually, you have cancer There needs to be a specialist hospital in Malawi because early diagnosis is key. Speaking out about my experience is about honouring my sister and her memory. I want to be involved in getting the government to realise this is an urgent issue that requires immediate action. Raising awareness is key. Cancer is not a black person’s disease.
