Talks with a Latino Therapist : Radical Healing for First‑Gen Well‑Being
from First Gen Healing - Latinx Healing and Awakening Journeys · host Priscilla Luna
Hola prim@s! Have you ever had someone try to empower you or help you through something without really knowing you or the factors that surround what you're going through? As FirstGens I think that it is important that the support and encouragement we receive is rooted in our reality otherwise it feels disconnected from us and this conversation talks about just that. In this part two with Jose, he shares with us the Radical Healing framework, it not only informs how he shows up as a therapist but also the work he does through The Phoenix Empowered. Let me know what resonated from this episode and what question you would have asked Jose! -------------------------------Get to Know Jose: Born to young Puerto Rican parents, José Rosario developed Cerebral Palsy as a premature baby. His family's journey towards equity deeply impacted his mental health. Currently nearing his PhD in Clinical Psychology, his research focuses on cultural trauma in intersectional communities. He is an Interdisciplinary Minority Fellow for the American Psychological Association, member of the Congressional Diversity and Equality Advisory Board for Congressman James Langevin, and member of the Rhode Island Attorney General Community Advisory Board. He has been honored with the Chris Martin Humanitarian Award and the Victoria Lederberg Award for Excellence in Psychology.Follow Jose: Socials: @thephoenixempoweredWebsite: www.thephoenixempowered.org------------------------------------------ If you’re craving more spaces like this, Soul Prim@s is an online community where we land, reflect, and stay connected between episodes.
