Tamika's Gems: Optimum by Nita

from Wealth and Wellness University · host Jacent

Tamika JuNita Galvin was born and raised in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. Tamika believes we all have something to contribute to the world. In her optimism, she expresses how greatness arrive when we tap into our own gifts and talents. She is a child of God, an advocate for family, health, wealth, knowledge, and growth. She is the proud parent of four beautiful children ages 25, 23, 17, and 14. It gives her immense joy that all but the youngest have graduated high school and are finding their place in the world. Tamika is the founder and owner of Optimum by Nita, LLC which focuses on health and the aesthetics of the body. Through her company, she seeks to improve her customers mental and physical well-being. Ms. Tamika has held various positions over the last two decades in education with the last few years being in administration. During the onset of the pandemic, Tamika accepted the role as founding principal for a community school in Ohio. She currently serves as an assistant principal in Tennessee where she currently resides with her family. Tamika openly shares her past of humble beginnings so that others can believe and receive that they, too, can do anything they put their mind to. During her teenage years, Tamika’s parents divorced at what seemed like the most imperfect time for a child to be off balanced. While experiencing abandonment, disappointment, and family disfunction, Tamika dropped out of high school. She began to experience domestic violence during her teenage years which yielded homelessness, poverty, and an attack on her mental health. The stress of dealing with molestation, by a family member, was a catalyst to the turmoil Tamika would endure for the next few years. She reenrolled herself in school, attending day and night classes, while working full-time at McDonald’s Restaurant. She made her deadline and graduated with her scheduled class. Although she was threatened that her life would end if she attended college, she did not let that stop her and went in lieu of the threats. Upon nearly completing her associate degree, her mother was murdered in St. Louis, Missouri. With the support of the staff, students, and faculty at the college she pulled through and graduated. She continued and completed her bachelor’s, master’s, educational specialist degree and became a doctoral candidate. She has received many academic achievements, honors, and awards and continues to strive for greatness in every area of her life. Tamika is dedicated to helping others and bringing awareness to cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and dementia. She plans to continue seeking ways to speak about health, education, and personal growth. Her goal is to do her part to increase positive mental well-being and confidence. Sharing her journey and how she survived are resources that she pray finds the destined ears. Death could not stop her, abuse could not stop her, poverty could not stop her! She is determined to teach, lead, and share why she is unstoppable. Tamika knew she was created for greatness. She went from scraping up coins for pancakes to earning more than six figures and counting. In her words, “Our past has dissolving roads in which we cannot return. Active knowledge is power and maintained health is wealth. We can have what we desire!” Connect with Jacent: Text “FREEDOM” to 702 829 5260 On Instagram At WamalaWellness.com On Youtube SUBSCRIBE | The Jacent’s Gems Podcast On Anchor.fm On Apple Podcasts Sponsorships: off for this episode
