Tonight to kick off our October series, we are having: Dr. Emma Power, who is a speech pathologist and academic at the University of Technology Sydney. She has worked in the area of communication impairments following Brain Injuries for over 25 years in a variety of clinical and academic positions. Dr. Power has led research on the development of post-stroke aphasia best practice guidelines and the development of the Australian Aphasia Rehabilitation pathway. She has also developed efficacious face to face and online training programs for communication partners of people with TBI: (TBI Express, TBI Connect, Social Brain Toolkit) as well as Aphasia. She is recognized internationally and nationally for her research in acquired communication disorders and implementation science! She has over 110 peer reviewed publications and has been awarded $16+ million grant funding from sources such as MRFF, NHMRC, iCcare, and the Stroke Foundation.
