Teen Inventor-Annie Rogers
from Move Over Mama · host Emily Jade O'Keeffe
Our first inventor joins us on the Mama couch today and what is amazing about her is that she is a TEEN inventor. Annie Rogers is only 16 year-old and last year won the Gold Coast Women of the Year-Young Women category for her invention of a device that helps non-verbal people communicate. Inspired by her non-verbal best friend Matilda, Annie started "My Voice Communication" to help her maintain eye contact while she communicates via a device she wears as a necklace, "Ladybird Lane Designs" was created to support that business..In this episode we discuss how Annie and Matilda became friends at primary school despite Matilda being unable to talk and how that friendship blossomed into an invention Annie created in class in high school to help Matilda maintain eye contact with her friends. Annie is inspiring and also needs more support to get the invention out into the world, so if you know someone who can help, please share this episode so we can help Matilda and many other. If you want to find out more about Annie and My Voice Communication you can follow Annie on insta @annie.rogers @my.voice.communications and @ladybird.lane.designsAnd if you like this episode, please share with a friend or give us a review.
