Georg Philipp Telemann, fue un inteligente estudiante de Derecho que no terminó la carrera. Compuso durante su larga vida alrededor de 3600 obras musicales. Fue además novelista, poeta, flautista, cantor, teórico de la música y un reputadísimo maestro de capilla. Sin embargo, durante toda su vida y luego de su fallecimiento, su música nos cuenta Clemency Burton-Hill, fue arrinconada por críticos que desdeñaban sus trabajo por considerarlo fácil y demasiado copioso. Después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, se encontraron paquetes de obras de este compositor y desde allí su fama empezó a recuperarse y su música a ser tomada en serio. Hoy escucharemos, de este compositor quien fue padrino de uno de los hijos de Bach el Adagio de su concierto para trompeta en Re mayor interpretado por Alison Balsom ejecutando una trompeta barroca acompañada del Ensamble Balsom quienes también ejecutan instrumentos barroco
