Teresa Conceição nasceu em Vila Real de Santo António, mas foi em Tavira que viveu a infância até partir para Lisboa, aos 17 anos. Ao mesmo tempo que frequentava o curso de Línguas e Literaturas Modernas da Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, Universidade de Lisboa, fez 14 cadeiras do curso de Comunicação Social, mas o que originalmente queria era ser pintora. 5 anos depois de ter chegado à SIC inscreveu-se em Belas Artes para tirar um curso de pintura e acumulou, durante esse período, o trabalho de repórter com os estudos de um, outro, curso superior. Fez ilustrações para livros infantis, e foi autora, texto e ilustração, de um livro para crianças chamado “O Namoro da Girafa Rafa”. Escreveu dois livros baseados na rubrica do Jornal da Noite da SIC “Ir é o Melhor Remédio”, que assina com Martim Cabral e da qual é autora, e participou, ao longo de vários anos, num blogue chamado Escrever é Triste ao lado de vários escritores. É jornalista da SIC desde 1992, mas considera-se leitora e viajante antes de ser jornalista. Gosta de ler e gosta tanto de poesia que sabe muitos poemas de cor. A juntar aos objectos comuns que a maioria das pessoas usa para decorar a habitação, Teresa Conceição tem também livros abertos nas páginas de que mais gosta espalhados pela casa.
