Tereza Machado Menuez on growing up as a woman in a misogynistic culture

Today we are honoring Tereza Machado Menuez a mother, grandmother, sister, friend, artist, stylist, producer and business woman.Born in Brazil at fifteen her family was torn apart due to the country being in a state of political unrest. Her older and younger sister manage to flee to the United States in Long Island NY. It was 3 years before Tereza joined her sisters and life began in NY where she finished out high school and met her now husband Doug. She worked in NYC in a sweat shop before going back to Brazil to pursue her education where she studied history at the University of Brazil.  Tereza experienced many tumultuous years while also building her skills which only highlighted her tremendous strength and resilience.
