Test : Steadicam Merlin et Smoothee

Le Steadicam Merlin est, selon moi, un des stabilisateurs les plus intéressants pour les reflex HD (et les hybrides). Pourquoi ? Il offre un excellent rapport poids/efficacité. Comme photographe nous sommes habitués à du matériel léger qui nous permet d'être très mobile. Les accessoiristes vidéo ont plutôt tendance à alourdir le matériel et Steadicam offre une approche assez différente. Il n'est pas parfait, comme je l'explique dans ce test vidéo, mais je le trouve adapté à cette transition photo/vidéo. Le Steadicam Smoothee est le même stabilisateur mais pour des caméras encore plus légères comme l'iPhone, iPod, GoPro et Contour. Avantage du Steadicam Smoothee : il est beaucoup plus simple à mettre en œuvre et il est donc bien adapté pour débuter. Il ne faut pas chercher longtemps pour trouver des utilisateurs déçus par la mise en service difficile de leur Steadicam Merlin.
