Texas US Senate campaign heats up; Latino voters share their thoughts; Remembering a trailblazing North Texan politician

Although Democrat James Talarico and Republican Ken Paxton are vying for the same seat, their campaigns are fighting very different battles. Recent campaign stops in North Texas revealed key differences in strategy between the sitting state legislator and the Texas attorney general. KERA's Emily DeMotte has details. Plus UnidosUS, a national, non-partisan Latino civil rights and advocacy group, brought their annual convention to Texas last week. The Texas Newsroom’s Blaise Gainey was there and asked Latino voters how they’re feeling with just three months until the 2026 midterm elections. Also, a remembrance of Kay Granger, who died Sunday at the age of 83. She was the first Republican woman from Texas elected to the US House and the first Republican woman to chair the powerful House Appropriations Committee.
