There is a difference between expecting your partner to read your mind and you're expecting your partner to actually know what to do in a situation. It's not just about them having the knowledge before you started the relationship but more that you have been telling them the information explicitly from the beginning. We should not feel bad that we want our partner to remember what we tell them and critically think when to use that information to our benefit.
