The Battle of Words: How the Enemy Uses Your Voice Against You

In this teaching, we continue our series on the power of words and dig deeper into how Satan twists and distorts the truth using subtle, sneaky tactics. He rarely comes with an obvious lie—he twists God’s truth, just like he did with Eve in the garden. We also look at the Israelites as they came out of Egypt. Even though they left Egypt physically, Egypt was still inside them. They carried old mindsets, past pain, and spiritual bondage that affected how they saw themselves. In the same way, many believers today carry their own “Egypt”—past hurts, emotional wounds, and false identities that keep them spiritually stuck. Satan uses words to distort how we see ourselves and to twist God’s truth about our identity in Christ. His goal is to keep us enslaved to the past instead of walking in the freedom Jesus paid for. But God steps into our story with His truth. Just like He did with Gideon—who saw himself as weak and insignificant—God speaks directly to our identity. He called Gideon a mighty man of valor, revealing who Gideon truly was, not who fear told him he was. This teaching will encourage you to break free from old lies, recognize the enemy’s tactics, and embrace your true identity in Christ.
