The Beloved Disciple. Chapter 4. Freedom Within.
from Keepers of the Earth
Who was John, the son of Zebedee? And why is his gospel quite different from Mark, Matthew, and Luke? Why was he the beloved disciple of Jesus? Was it maybe because even though he was the youngest, was he the most spiritually mature of all the apostles? According to Christian tradition, John the Evangelist was John the apostle, one of the original twelve apostles, and his testimony is for the author of this essay very valuable because this gospel - at a difference from those of Mark, Matthew and Lucas accounts from other sources - is a first hand testimony of someone that lived and learned from the Nazarene, during his ministry on this earth and that even was with Him in His painful death in the cross and witnessed many wonders in those darkest times. Consequently, the author presents in this short essay some of what the apostle John considered important subjects from his gospel about what he learned from Jesus teaching, his ministry, his legacy and what it all meant for all humanity.
