The Best Way to Show Patience [Friday, #423]

God the Father and God the Son are patient with us. God doesn’t send lighting down to fry us or sweep us away with the Red Sea. He endures. He waits. Jesus prays for us. God is patient because he does not wish “that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance” (2 Peter 3:9b ESV). Our love relationship with Christ should move us to be patient with every person around us, whether they’re our spouse or a stranger. Patience is merely evidence of our love for God and the people around us. Centering ourselves on the wonderful, intimate love of Jesus will inspire and empower us to be patient. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.
