The Body Ages, But Does the Soul? | உடலுக்கு வயது உண்டு; ஆத்மாவிற்கு வயது உண்டா?
from Santhosam Podcast: Guiding Light of Spiritual Wisdom · host Santhosam
In the 26th Velvi Discourse, Gurumahan Explains: “The Body Grows Old, But the Atma Remains Eternal”! Gurumahan has not yet fully returned to the physical state. Because I remain established in my higher state, I am not connected with the body through ordinary feelings, emotions, or the mind. Although my eyes appear to be looking at you, I am not present in that experience. Through the instrument of the eyes, the mind and the life force perceive the world. But I remain beyond all of this, established in the state of the Self. Therefore, I do not see, hear, smell, taste, or touch in the ordinary sense. Beyond all sensations and emotions, I remain in the sacred state of the Self, in the divine state of pure consciousness. That is why I cannot relate to you merely through the physical body. My purpose is to lead you to this state, to take you into supreme bliss and spiritual ecstasy, and to help you become pure and divine. I see everyone as God. There is only One Reality. The great truth declared in the Gita, the Upanishads, and the Vedas is Prajnanam Brahma, pure consciousness is Brahman. This entire universe is filled with consciousness. I too am pure consciousness. Here, there, everywhere, and in everything, from the smallest atom to the vastest universe, the Self, the Brahman, pervades all without separation. I have neither sin nor merit. I am neither born nor do I die. The Supreme Cosmic Energy, Maha Shakti, manifested as its own expression, its own remembrance, and its own primordial sound, revealing itself as the form of Paranjothi. That Paranjothi, the Divine Light that I truly am, is present as everything today. Everyone is Paranjothi. This world is Paranjothi. Everything in this world is Paranjothi. If God is Paranjothi, then the world too is Paranjothi. Every living being in this world is that same Divine Light. My beloved ones, this age must once again become an age of love, an age of joy, and an age of peace. That is why everyone who has realized Brahman emphasizes the importance of meditation. The mind experiences the sensations of the body through knowledge and perceives the world. But it does not experience the deeper awareness of the Self. Creating that awareness is the purpose of tapas, spiritual practice. It is the dharma of great sages to guide you through tapas and help you return to your true, original state. My duty and my work are to transform humanity into a pure and noble humanity, to awaken its divine nature, and to lead humanity to a state of true happiness. The body has an age, but the Self has no age. Therefore, through another cycle of transformation, I will continue to uplift humanity and establish it in a higher and nobler state. Until then, this physical body will continue to function under my direction. My complete blessings to everyone who has participated in this Velvi. Through the Velvi and the offering of food, we must work for the welfare of the entire universe. Protecting not only humanity but also aquatic life, plants, reptiles, birds, animals, and every other form of life is the dharma of human beings. Therefore, it is our responsibility to protect this world and the entire universe through our actions. The purpose of this Velvi is to clearly remind every human being of this responsibility, inspire them to fulfil their duty, and guide them towards a higher state of consciousness. With this purpose, through tapas, financial support, and physical service, Sage Vishwamitra once performed a Velvi for the welfare and peace of the world. Rama and Lakshmana supported him and protected that sacred Velvi. In the same way, I offer my complete blessings to all the loving souls and their families who have protected and supported this Gurumahan’s Velvi, without caring about day or night, heat or cold.
