The Book of Isaiah_ The Prophet Who Revealed Salvation

A man saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted. Seraphim covered their faces. The temple shook with smoke. The man cried, Woe is me, for I am a man of unclean lips. An angel touched his mouth with a burning coal and said, Your guilt is taken away. The man was Isaiah, and his book is the most quoted by Jesus.In this episode, I uncover the message of Isaiah, the prophet who revealed salvation to a nation that refused to listen. Isaiah warned Judah that judgment was coming. Jerusalem would fall. The people would be exiled. But in the middle of the warnings, Isaiah saw something else: a suffering servant who would be pierced for transgressions and crushed for iniquities. He saw a virgin giving birth to a son named Immanuel. He saw a child called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. He saw a light to the Gentiles and a new heaven and a new earth. Isaiah was murdered, tradition says, by being sawed in half under King Manasseh. He died before any of his promises were fulfilled.
