The Bookshelf Experience Thump. My foot hit the sturdy wood of my bookshelf, then I knew I should climb up my bright orange bookshelf to say goodbye to Leah. I figured she could probably see me if I climbed high enough. Once I got high enough and got a steady grip, I waved with one hand and yelled “Bye, Leah”. To my surprise I saw her though she didn’t see me. Right then, I just about fell! When I got back on the bookshelf I held on tighter. Unfortunately my multicolored stripy socks must have slipped for the second time because I was falling again! Down, down, down. I fell about two feet! After I fell I landed on a soft carpet of books. Luckily, I wasn’t hurt. But, if bookshelves could laugh about things, this one surely laugh. And, the moral of this story? Never, ever climb your bookshelf unless you’re saying hello to Leah.
