Meanwhile, Eddie James finds himself on a very personal case. His favorite waitress has received an engagement ring. Eddie thinks it's a mistake. That feeling is doubled when he goes to the home of the hopeful husband-to-be and finds nothing but a blood stain. Where's Gene? Why does the receipt for the ring show he purchased a real diamond?
