The Case of Gavin Peterson

This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Utah to discuss the case of Gavin Peterson, a 12-year-old boy who was murdered at the hands of his father, stepmother, and adult brother. Gavin was locked in a room without bedding or blankets, and monitored with multiple CCTV cameras. While the other siblings had carpeted floors, Gavin’s room had painted plywood. Tape was laid out in the shape of a box on the floor, and areas in his room were covered with black vomit. The box on the floor was supposed to be his bed. Gavin was starved for days and refused water despite begging for it. He consumed his own waste in an attempt to stay alive. In the end, Gavin died from sepsis, dehydration, and malnutrition. The torture he endured was so horrific that it brought the judge to tears.
