The Case of Roe V Wade

from Totally Innocent · host Alexander E Ryken

Welcome back to the Totally Innocent Podcast! This week we are taking a look at the overturning of roe v wade and what that means for womens rights as well as the rights of the LGBTQ community as well as inter-racial marriage and even the legality of contraception.  On june 24th 2022 the supreme court overturned Roe v Wade and several red state had trigger laws in place to all but outlaw abortion in almost every way. Most red states have exceptions for saving the life of the mother, but there are a few that say non consensual conception and even saving the mothers life are still murder.  For a little context, I am a registered democrat. However I will be damned if you try to take my AR-15 away from me. I am very middle of the road on most issues. I say things in this episode that people WILL be mad at, and that is ok. At the end of the day these are MY opinions. Due to the nature of the topic there are points I almost didnt upload this episode for due to what may seem as me blatantly attacking certain groups. I do not mean to offend, I am just passionate and in the heat of the moment. well Roe v Wade being overturned was a huge step back for womens rights, as well as progressive rights in the united states and who the hell are these old bags to tell anyone what they can or cannot do with their own bodies. I say abortion shouldnt be used as birth control.. but you know what? even if it is? it literally affects my life 0.  Lord knows those in power are pro life until the baby is born, but after that? Well, just look at the foster care system in America. You are not pro life. You are pro birth and who cares what happens to them after that. This is a very polarizing topic and as such we try to tread light, however I do have opinions of my own so if I get a little frisky, send me an email and tell me to shut up at [email protected] find the group on facebook at We Are Totally Innocent and lets have a conversation

F*ck Surviving, We're Thriving Malina Lopez Hello beautiful humans! I have been on my holistic healing journey since 2020 after a massive awakening thanks to a sound healing ceremony. Since then I have dedicated my free time to health and healing (when I'm not too consumed with being a mama of two). Health is something that has always been important to me, but healing myself in a holistic way has allowed me to become a version of myself I am truly proud of. I had no idea there was an option for living life outside of survival mode. As someone who has been in some state of fight, flight or freeze since I was a small child the idea of any other life seemed out of reach and down right unrealistic. I honestly thought how I was living and feeling was totally normal. Once I started to heal all parts of myself down to the cells I am made up of I realized life is so much more than people pleasing, anxiety attacks and living life in a haze. I've been exciting that survival mode and entering my era of thriving.  I feel ready and so e Explicit Straight to the Dome Kirby Gregory Straight to the Dome. It's a veritable cornucopia of culture. A culture-copia, if you will. For each series of episodes, we'll pick a theme, exemplified by one book, one movie, and one game. We'll spend one episode discussing each piece of media on its own, then swing back to discuss all three in relation to the theme as a whole. Topics are announced a month in advance, if you'd like to read/watch/play along with us. If you'd rather not, that's cool too; the beginning of every episode is totally spoiler-free. It's like a super-relaxed book club, but then also two other clubs, which are about movies and games instead of books. Whether you're in it for the long haul or just sticking around until the spoiler break, we hope you enjoy the show as much as we enjoy making it.
