The church that lost its love (Rev. 2:1-7)

from Edgar Andrews’ Onefootinglory Podcast · host onefootinglory

THIS VIDEO The church that lost its love (Rev. 2:1-7). At first sight the church at Ephesus was doing well and Christ appears to commend their works of labor, patience and their rejection of evil men and false apostles. And indeed such works are commendable. But, searching the hearts and minds of the Ephesians, the Lord perceives a serious flaw ... their motivation for service is no longer the love of Christ that once burned in their hearts. Without this love as the primary motivation for our service to God, we can in fact accomplish nothing of lasting value. This remains a challenge for churches today and we need to examine ourselves to see whether we are driven by the love for Christ "shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit" and not by lesser things.
