The Coffee Run Ep311 - The Idea Graveyard

from The Nicola Moras Show · host Nicola Moras

I know it's not just me that has notebooks and word documents FILLED with idea after idea. Book idea after book idea. Notebooks filled to the brim and overflowing with course content, brainstorms, concepts and notions.... Only to be left to the idea graveyard due to non-implementation. It's not just you! And for the most part, it's not due to lack of substance nor is it due to lack of desire and or motivation.... For me, in the past, it was more about How the heck do I pull this off?!?!?! A great example of this with myself was a few years ago on my way to the USA... My genius tends to visit me when i'm on planes. I get struck by the idea fairy and I have no doubt, that if I had launched half of what I came up with on long haul flights, I probably could be retired by now!!! Anyway. On this one particular flight circa 2015/2016 , I mapped out an idea for about 26 months worth of mini-courses that I could put out there rather than doing the big courses that I was traditionally known for. Yes, that's right. 26 course ideas with the structure dot pointed out. It was epic! All I had to do was LAUNCH IT. But I didn't. I got caught up in the overwhelm of HOW I was going to deliver it. How was I going to price it? How was I going to store it? How was I going to run it? How was I going to make money from it? How could I really leverage it? And so I put it off. AND THERE IT STAYED, IN THE IDEA GRAVEYARD FOR YEARS.
