The Consolers

from Spoken In Words - Gospel · host Gail

Music by: Gail Nobles Story by: Gail Nobles Words by: Gail Nobles Those of you that listen to gospel music, do you remember the Consolers? They were a husband and wife singing duo in the old days. I remember an old green 45 record titled Nashboro Records. And I remember hearing these songs: Waiting For My Child To Come Home, May The Work Done Speak For Me, and Thank God Things Are As Well As They Are. Their songs were life lessons for me growing up. The Consolers told stories in their songs. I really learned what gospel music was all about in those days. The Consoles were before my time, but I was born in a household that always played their songs. I didn't know why then but I know now why. Though gospel music has changed, the lyrics of the Consolers speak out now. The songs they were singing applies to life today. We should thank God, let our work speak for us, and somebody is still waiting for their child to come home. I feel like the songs helped to show me in life. You’re listening to Spoken In Words. The Gospel Edition. Im you’re host, Gail Nobles.
