The Courage to Go First | Regina Martinez OLY, M.D., MPH

A Mexican emergency room doctor who had never touched a ski until she was 28, Regina Martínez Lorenzo OLY made history at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics as the first Mexican woman to ever compete in cross-country skiing at the Winter Games. While logging 80-hour hospital shifts in Miami, she trained on roller skis on pavement and worked as a dog walker to afford flights to snow. She didn't choose between medicine and the Olympics. She chose both. Tune in to hear how she made the impossible possible.Regina is currently preparing for this Winter's World Ski Championships in Falun 2027 and is working hard to see how far she can go on her journey to the 2030 Winter Olympics.
