The Court Watchers!!! Fighting For Change In The Family Court System..

They All have their own stories, Yet the one thing they have in common is the CHANGE they are fighting for. Sheila Jaffee, After moving to Florida, Sheila became involved in the South Palm Beach County chapter of NOW in 1988 when her printing company started printing NOW’s newsletters. She has been the chapter’s president and vice president of Florida NOW. Sheila has been involved in FACTs Court Watch and health issue concerns with women and tobacco addiction. Adrianne Pugh, A survivor of Domestic Violence. I was in an abusive relationship and marriage for 8 years. Police were called many times. He was arrested for battery on me once. He was physically, verbally, emotionally and sexually abusive. I’m 7 years post divorce and I have a pretty good custody situation now because I gave up a lot of money in exchange for it and settled out of court. I avoided the judges I learned wouldn’t take my abuse seriously. But I still have to send my son to his abusive Dad every other weekend and the abuse continues to this day in various forms of post-separation abuse…legal abuse, withholding reimbursement of my son’s expenses, poisoning my son against me, emotional abuse to my son, withholding consent for my son’s counseling, etc. And my ex continues to file for 50/50 custody every couple of years. I’m always in court, spending thousands of dollars trying to keep my son safe. A few years ago, I started immersing myself in research about Family Court, Parental Alienation, various forms of abuse, narcissistic personality disorders, anti-social personality disorders, etc. I came across FACTs during that process and reached out for court watchers. After a few years, I started coming regularly to the board meetings and became more active as a way to give back. I’m passionate about helping others that are struggling to protect their children like I was and still am. Now, I’m the incoming President of FACTs and I’m so proud of this organization and what they’ve done over the years. Adele Guadalupe, One of the founders of Families Against Court Travesties, Inc. (FACTS), has presented “Florida’s Family Court System and Its Effect on Women and Children” to many groups and organizations in Florida. She is also on the Florida NOW Child Custody Committee and National NOW Family Law Committee.
