The Cycle of Sin & The Harvest of Souls: Judges 2–3 and John 4 (Day 125)

Why do we keep falling back into the same traps? Today in the Book of Judges, we see the tragic cycle that will haunt Israel for generations: they abandon God, fall into oppression, cry out for help, and are rescued by a "judge," only to repeat the pattern once the leader dies. In the Gospel of John, however, we see the power of a single witness. The Samaritan woman’s testimony brings her entire village out to meet Jesus, leading to a harvest of souls that reminds us that the "fields are white" for those willing to see them.Today’s Scripture:📖 Judges 2:6–3:31 – We see the death of the generation that knew Joshua and the rise of a new generation that "did not know the Lord." We meet the first three judges: Othniel, who brings peace for forty years; Ehud, the left-handed judge who delivers a hidden message to the king of Moab; and Shamgar, who saves Israel with an oxgoad.📖 John 4:27–42 – The disciples return to find Jesus talking to the Samaritan woman. While they worry about physical food, Jesus speaks of a different "food": doing the will of the Father. The Samaritans from the town come to believe in Him, declaring, "We know that this is indeed the Savior of the world."📖 Psalm 56:1–13 – A psalm of David "when the Philistines seized him in Gath." It is a profound declaration of trust in the face of fear: "In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
