When it comes to running a business, our society has normalized the concept of failure and glamorized the idea of success. While it is important to celebrate our success, there are many dangers in normalizing it too much. In today’s episode, host May Yeo Silvers discusses why normalizing success is just as dangerous as normalizing failure.   According to May, when we normalize our success we run the risk of becoming too content in our business and slowing down our progress. Rather than expecting success at every corner, it is important for every entrepreneur to understand that success will come and go. May explains that when we focus solely on success, we forget about how far we have come since the beginning. Even though success does feel good, it is never worth beating yourself up over when the “success” wasn’t what you expected.   Tune into this week’s episode of The Unstoppable Eventrepreneur™ to learn more about the importance of celebrating your wins–no matter their size, being grateful to your progress, and how normalizing success can negatively affect your business.    Quotes • “The danger of normalizing success is just as dangerous as normalizing failure.” (02:31-02:40 | May) • “Normalizing success means you are so used to success, that when you're not getting success, you think that you are a failure.” (03:02-03:09 | May) • “When you get to a point that you're cruising and you're so used to success, sometimes you tend to not expand yourself or evolve as much as you should.” (06:24-06:36 | May) • “Sometimes in business, things don't always go up. Sometimes it's like a wave. It will go up and then it will sometimes come down.” (09:53-09:59 | May) • “It is not a negative thing to normalize success. But it is a negative thing if  you beat yourself up when success does not repeat itself the way you want it to.” (12:42-12:54 | May)   Links Connect with me at: [email protected] Website: events4anyone.com LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/mayyeosilvers Facebook: www.facebook.com/mayyeosilvers IG: www.instagram.com/mayyeosilvers TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mayyeosilvers  FB private group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/events4anyone   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm
