It is not irritable, resentful, or selfish, but rather rejoices in truth, bears all things, hopes for all things, and endures all things, ultimately never failing. Written by the Apostle Paul to the church in Corinth around 54 AD, this passage was intended to address discord and selfishness within the community by defining the true, divine nature of love.It is an example of the self sacrificing love that our savior shows for us every day so much so that he took our sins as our own to the cross.
