The Fayetteville 411-Edward and Sally Evans

In this episode of The Fayetteville 411, our guests are the great-granddaughters of Edward and Sallie Evans. They share stories stories about how Mr. and Mrs. Evans were pivotal in the education of the black community. Edward Evans was a respected educator in the black community and the first principal at Orange Street School, which was founded in 1915. He and his wife, Sallie, served as vice principals at the State Colored Normal School - now known as Fayetteville State University - and were teachers at Evans Metropolitan AME Zion Church on North Cool Spring Street.
